![]() Bombing: Heavy armor or medium weight armor After all, it is at the head of the hit. Radiotelephone and Navigator: Armor The heaviest they can be, They are an important part of a unit, they can not die at all. isn't Toughened Survival Vest Mk1 better than all Flak Vests? It is lighter ("faster"), has the same value of armor and much more survivability. Pilot: Armor -Heavy Armor, The pilot must be hard, unless someone has to hold the rudder. You don't exactly need oxygen gear to fly high, but rather a thermal gear, because your crew is supplied with oxygen when they are on stations.ītw. Also, some missions will give you a big ass bomb that can only be dropped from high altitude. You are going to be spending a lot of time in the skies above Europe in Bomber Crew so how about making your plane uniquely yours with some custom liveries and nose art. Maybe it's something I'll need better gear for, but heavy oxygen gear slows my dudes down significantly :)īy flying at high altitude you can only be hit by jets (Me 262 and another one name I don't remember) and your navigator can navigate by stars after he hits level 8, but before he can do it flying high is somewhat risky, as you need to somewhat estimate when should you descend, so you won't miss your target. Incidentally, what's the benefit of flying at high altitude? It seems like my objectives are always at low altitude and my navigator keeps complaining that he can't see, plus I've never really had good experience dodging fighters by flying high. It's usually the gunners eating most of the damage, though, for some reason. Speed is fine, but it only seems to affect walking speed and bringing lighter gear just means my dudes get shot dead. That's why I was leaning so heavily towards Flak Jackets and such.
